5 Stunning Geometric Candle DIY Tutorials: Unlock "Minimalist Aesthetics" with Molds

Today, we bring you DIY tutorials for 5 best-selling geometric molds from our store. From basic production to creative upgrades, even beginners can easily make stunning geometric candles that fit various home styles like wabi-sabi, industrial, and minimalist.
I. Mold Overview: Highlights of 5 "Trendy" Geometric Molds
All 5 molds used in this tutorial are part of our store's best-selling "Food-Grade Silicone Geometric Series". They are uniformly made of high-elasticity silicone, heat-resistant up to 230℃. When demolding, just gently fold the mold, and the edges, corners, and textures of the geometric shape will be completely preserved—zero failure for beginners. Each mold has unique features, suitable for different aesthetics and scenarios:
Composed of 4 equilateral triangles, with a base side length of 8cm and height of 10cm. The edges are sharp but not sharp to the touch. The finished product exudes a "mysterious ritual vibe", ideal for placement at the entrance or on bookshelves.
A regular hexahedron with a side length of 7cm. The inner wall is smooth without textures, allowing for "solid color blocks" or "color-block layered" effects. It's a "versatile piece" for minimalist-style homes.
Hemispherical base + concave-convex surface texture (simulating planetary surface), with a diameter of 9cm. Can create "Earth", "Moon" and other shapes, filled with starry romance, suitable for bedrooms or children's rooms.
Two cones symmetrically joined at the middle, with a middle diameter of 6cm and total height of 12cm. The lines are smooth and three-dimensional. When burning, the candle flame shines through the middle, creating a highly designed light and shadow effect.
Regular hexagonal column, with a side length of 4cm and height of 11cm. The sides have fine frosted textures, retaining the neatness of geometry while adding texture through patterns. Suitable for matching with essential oils to create "cool-toned fragrances".
II. General Preparation: Materials & Tools for Geometric Candles
Core Materials (One-Stop Purchase in Our Store):
- Wax Material: Priority is given to "Soy Wax + Beeswax Combo Pack" (ratio 9:1). Soy wax ensures a smooth candle surface, while beeswax increases hardness to prevent deformation of geometric shapes (especially edges and corners). For a "semi-transparent effect", replace with "Crystal Wax"—when matched with pigments, it looks like "colored ice cubes".
- Pigments: Recommend "Mineral Pigment Powders" (such as titanium white, carbon black, navy blue, silver gray). The pigment powder has high concentration—1g can match 500g of wax. It does not precipitate easily after melting, ensuring uniform and clean color blocks for geometric candles. Avoid water-based pigments, which easily cause wax stratification.
- Fragrance Oils: To match the "minimalist aesthetics" of geometry, choose "Neutral-Tone Essential Oils" (such as cedarwood, vetiver, juniper, fir). The fragrance is calm and unobtrusive, complementing the "sense of alienation" of geometric shapes. For planet-style candles, try "Galaxy Aromatherapy Essential Oil" (contains fir + lavender, with an inherent "starry vibe").
- Wicks: Choose according to mold size (2mm diameter cotton wick for pyramid/cube; 2.5mm for planet/bicone/hexagonal column). Match with "Metal Wick Holders" to ensure the wick is at the geometric center, preventing it from leaning to one side when burning.
General Tools:
- "Metal Melting Pot", "Thermometer", "Silicone Stirring Stick", "Dropper", "Kitchen Scale", "Fine-Grit Sandpaper" (for polishing minor burrs after demolding).
III. Detailed Tutorials: Steps & Inspiration for 5 Geometric Candles
1. Pyramid Candle: The "Ritual Vibe" Representative with Sharp Edges
Production Steps:
- 1. Melt the Wax: Weigh 200g soy wax + 20g beeswax, pour into the melting pot. Heat indirectly with water to 65℃ (monitored by thermometer), stir until completely melted. Turn off the heat and cool to 55℃.
- 2. Color & Fragrance: Add 1g carbon black pigment powder (or titanium white), stir clockwise with a stirring stick for 1 minute until uniform. Then add 8 drops of cedarwood essential oil, continue stirring for 30 seconds.
- 3. Mold Preparation: Lightly spray a layer of "Release Oil" on the inner wall of the pyramid mold (optional, recommended for beginners to ensure complete edges). Place the mold flat on a level table, insert the wick holder, and adjust the wick length to be 3cm taller than the mold.
- 4. Pour & Solidify: Slowly pour the wax into the mold (pour from the center top of the mold to avoid wax accumulation at edges due to pouring along the wall). Fill to the top of the mold (the final height will shrink to 90% of the mold due to wax contraction, no need for additional wax filling). Let it stand for 4 hours to fully solidify.
- 5. Demold & Polish: Gently pinch the bottom of the mold with both hands and fold upward to "release" the pyramid. If there are minor burrs at the edges, polish lightly with fine-grit sandpaper.
- • Solid Color Style: All-black pyramid candle, matched with a metal tray, placed on a black marble countertop at the entrance. Put 1 dried eucalyptus leaf next to it to instantly enhance the "wabi-sabi" ritual vibe.
- • Gradient Style: Divide the wax into two parts—one with 0.5g carbon black (dark
